TANYA'S BLONDE HIGHLIGHTS
All the TV that's mad, bad, or just a little bit evil for Friday . Our Tiny Tanya Turner ratings
show just how low each show goes – the more Tanyas a show scores, the more mental it is.
» SLAY! Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Sky Mix, 7.00pm
A vintage Season Five episode, before things started to get irretrievably wonky in Sunnydale. After finding herself on the wrong end of a stake during a routine patrol, Buffy tracks down Spike and asks him to tell her how he killed two Slayers. The costume and wig department have a field day as we pay a visit to Flashback City and learn where Spike's other nickname, William The Bloody, really came from. Actually, what does rhyme with “effulgent”?
» GAY! Will & Grace, Channel 4, 9.00pm
Is that a cry of "plot of episode entirely contrived to accommodate guest star"? Why yes, we do believe it is, but when that guest star is Madonna, we can make allowances. Karen decides on a change of pace and gets a flatmate called Liz (guess who?). Hijinks ensue. Liz works for a Timelife-esque record company, by the way, allowing Karen to quip "You never know if people like you for you, or for the 80s hits." Zing!
» WAHEY! Popworld, Channel 4, 1.10am
A late night repeat for everyone's favourite acerbic music show – it’s a sure-fire sign of quality when a show works just as well as post-pub TV as it does in an early-morning hangover-recovery capacity. Classic Popworld moment this week? Simon asking a hapless interviewee whether he has a hot mum, and then deciding to take the expression "how's your father" a bit more literally than most of us might prefer.
