That life
LEGAL (AGAIN)! The Innocence Project, BBC1, 8.00pm
Odd that we should have previewed the repeats of This Life on Monday and opined that it's often imitated and never bettered, when this new show should come along, featuring a cast of newcomers playing a group of toothsome and attractive young hotshot lawyers.
Actually, that's probably an unfair comparison. Nobody ever watched This Life for the legal storylines, they watched it for its no-nonsense portrayal of twentysomething life, complete with drugs, bumming and swearing. (Trust us, we did research. A lot of research.) Judging by the blurb, this one does at least seem to be focusing at first on the law, with the requisite complicated personal lives being thrown in afterwards. This time, it's all about fighting for justice in the cases that no one else wanted. (Perhaps they'll be representing Kevin Federline in his divorce suit against Britney?)
The timeslot suggests that people tuning in for lots of hedonistic coke-snorting in the court toilets and bumming up against the filing cabinet will probably be disappointed, but if Judge John Deed Juniors appeals to you, this could be just what you've been looking for.
