Body of evidence

ENDING! Bodies, BBC3, 10.00pm

BodiesBodies is one of those programmes that always makes us feel slightly guilty for never having properly got into it. It always looked good: tense, dramatic, a bit political and well-acted and all that, but it was one of those shows that someone we never quite got around to watching on a regular basis. People yelled at us and poked us and told us it was great and that we were the reason it got axed, and we felt duly apologetic for our sins against popular culture.

Anyway, it's back for a final feature-length episode to tie up all the loose ends, so we thought we'd do our best to redress the balance by telling everyone to watch it this time. Dr Rob Lake has got a new job at another hospital, but it's not long before he crosses paths with adversary Roger Hurley, the surgeon whose neglect and incompetence has a nasty side effect of leaving a lot of mothers and babies dead on his operating table.

Not exactly laugh-a-minute stuff for Christmas, then, but we're reliably informed it's still going to be an hour and a half of damn good telly, and whether we watched it or not we'll miss it once it's gone.

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
