Breaking on through to the other side

NUDEY! Trinny And Susannah Undress..., ITV1, 8.00pm

So, Trinny and Susannah left What Not To Wear in the fairly capable hands of Lisa Butcher and Mica Paris and headed off into the sunset for a golden handcuffs deal with ITV - what happened next? Well, we won't know until tonight, obviously, but it sounds like an...interesting concept.

Basically, they're taking the wardrobes of couples to task, and seeing if they can improve these people's relationships by giving them a whole new sartorial sense. After all, clothes maketh the man, so can a trip to Selfridges put the spice back into your love life? We're not going to accuse this of being too shallow a concept because we thought that about What Not To Wear at first and it turned out to be quite a sweet and sensitive show, and as long as this one doesn't put too much faith in its own ability to heal the sick, it could be quite a funky idea.

And even if the format does turn out to be a bit flat, Trinny and Susannah are usually entirely watchable, and their sharp but sensible advice is always heaps of fun for those of us watching at home, so it's a win-win, right?
