FASHION! What Not To Wear, BBC1, 8.00pm

What Not To WearTrinny and Susannah have left the building. It's true. Try not to shed a tear, but they've departed for the glossier shores known as ITV, and there are posters conveniently just going up around the place for their new show which looks...interesting. Rest assured, when the time comes for it to hit the airwaves, we shall offer it due attention, of course.

In the meantime, the BBC weren't keen to let a winning format die, so to replace the previous queens of the 360° mirror, they've drafted in Mica Paris and Lisa Butcher. Hold on, those synapses should be firing any time...now. Mica Paris is a former singer and Radio 2 DJ, and Lisa Butcher was the not-very-good host of the first series of Britain's Next Top Model before being replaced by the frankly-not-much-better Lisa Snowdon. However, we do not prejudge here at LOWCULTURE and we're entirely willing to give the two new ladies a chance to find their feet before we attempt to criticise. Honest.

Anyway, change-phobics shouldn't let out their breath just yet, since the show's been remodelled (ha!) to fit the new presenters. Now apparently a selection of people will be invited to their gaff for a bit of a shindig, and two will be selected for the wardrobe-remodelling treatment. It's not a drastic change, all things considered, so those of you fretting probably don't have anything to worry about. Phew!

(Psst! Looking for the Veronica Mars update? It's here, of course.)

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
