America's Next Top Smackdown

SCREAM! America’s Next Top Model, Living TV, 9.00pm
It’s been a long week for all of us who saw the preview clips at the end of last week’s instalment of ANTM, where we saw a fleeting shot of Tyra gettin’ all up in some bitch’s grill (WARNING: this programme has a seriously deleterious effect on your vocabulary, but don’t let that put you off watching). We’ve spent the best part of a week wondering what the context might be. Some people suspect it’s a big promo fakeout, and it’ll turn out to be Tyra giving the girls an acting lesson. Those of us who saw Coyote Ugly, however, suspect that Tyra can’t act that convincingly. For those who believe it to be genuine, there’s the question of who could have driven Tyra to such lengths, and by doing what? Some suggest it may be Tiffany slapping Miss Tyra upside the head and pulling out her weave in some kind of belated defence of now-absent friend Brandy. Some think it could be Michelle, with her melting face and her utter lack of self-confidence – after all, we’ve seen before (Kelle, anyone?) that Tyra does not like people who won’t stand up for themselves. Some think it could be Brittany, with her party-hardy lifestyle and her tendency to bring the girls into disrepute. Well, we know what happens, but we won’t spoil it for you. All we will tell you is that there are several surprises to come at this week’s elimination, and that this looks like being THE unmissable episode of the season. If you have even a passing interest in this show, you’ll be wanting to tune in tonight.
