SUDDEN GOODBYE, AN OVEN THAT'S GONE AWRY, FACE LIKE A PORK PIE, POTENTIAL FATHERS IN PLENTIFUL SUPPLY, APPLYING FOR JOBS ON THE SLY
It's been a little while since we took our last daily spin round the world of soap. This is because the soaps have been a bit boring for the last week or so, and there didn't seem to be much worth writing about. But things are perking up a bit, so here goes...
» Bad news for Taj fans – today marks his last appearance in NEIGHBOURS (BBC1, 5.35pm). If you blinked yesterday, you would have missed his discovery that a famous film producer was in residence at Lassiters. This has somehow led to the pointy-faced youth having to pack his bags to go off for a new life as a film star or something equally ridiculous – this very day! If only things moved that quickly in the real world.
» The principal action in FAMILY AFFAIRS (five, 6.30pm) today is concerned with Justin trying to fix someone's oven. Fucking marvellous.
» Hopefully things will be slightly more interesting over in HOLLYOAKS (Channel 4, 6.30pm), where miserable-cow-in-chief Izzy still suspects her new hubby Ben of chasing every bit of passing skirt he sees. If all we had to look forward to when we got home of an evening was that hatchet-faced shrew bleating on about how hard-done-by she was, we would be looking around for other opportunities too.
» Charity Dingle has given birth to her devil-spawn in EMMERDALE (ITV1, 7pm) , and the whole village is playing 'Who's The Daddy?'. The new mum decides that a paternity test is the only way to end the speculation, and rings the Trisha production office to find out if there is a slot on the show a week next Tuesday (except we might have made that last bit up).
» Nick decides he's had enough of skivvying for Baldwin in CORONATION STREET (ITV1, 7.30pm), so he sets up an interview for a new job. Only problem is, there's a large, Baldwin-shaped problem staring back at him when he sits down in front of the interview panel. Whoops.
