EVICTION! Big Brother, Channel 4, 9.00pm
We have to hand it to the producers of Big Brother – six series on and they’re still finding new ways to psychologically torment a bunch of dim-witted exhibitionists. What terrifies us slightly about the current series is that they’ve had so many contestants that they now need a scrolling marquee in order to display everyone’s headshots on the official site. Just think how many more people that will be vying to appear in Heat magazine when the show’s over – it makes us shudder, we can tell you. We’ve managed to avoid watching it this year, but that doesn’t mean we’ve managed to avoid any of the dramatic revelations. Will Makosi be struck off when she returns to her nursing career? Is the tale of Craig and Anthony the greatest love story never told? Is there anything that can be done to save Eugene, since he seems so nice and completely at odds with this show? Well, we’ll probably be waiting a bit longer to find out the answers to any of that, but you can tune in tonight to find out who will be evicted out of Science and Orlaith. Perhaps we’ve not been giving the contestants enough credit, since both of the housemates they nominated for eviction do actually have two syllable names. That must require some brainpower, at least.

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
