IT AIN'T OVER TILL THE SCOTS LADY* SINGS
The Scottish Parliament (honestly, bear with us) has managed to grab lowculture's attention this week by tackling an issue close to our hearts - The Eurovision Song Contest.
As if spoken by the mouth of Terry Wogan himself, Scottish Socialist MSP Carolyn Leckie has lodged a notice of motion blaming Britain's poor performance in recent years on Britain's support of the war of Iraq.
Furthermore, she's calling for Scotland to distance itself from Westminster politics by submitting its own entries to the competition in future years.
Personally, we see The Krankies as the prime candidates for this option, but only if Jeanette's wearing her slightly sinister stage costume and they get to sing "Fan Dabi Dozi".
The Proclaimers might also be worth a shot, or at a push they could always wheel Lulu out for another go.
Meanwhile, Mrs Leckie is being criticised for the "trivial" nature of her motion - and it doesn't look like she'll be securing the support of football fans north of the border.
"There is as much chance of a British entry winning the Eurovision Song Contest as there is of the Scottish football team winning the World Cup," says she.
So let's get the Eurovision debate up and running for one last time: Would Britain benefit from regional entries to the competition and, if so, who should we put forward?
