FUCK ME FACTS!
For those of us not swanning about in Istanbul this week *sigh*, let's keep ourselves busy by poking fun at these amazing things about Thursday, May 13:
» It was reported two years ago that David Beckham demanded a set of Old Trafford goalposts as part of his new contract with Manchester United. The posts, used in the Euro '96 tournament, would take pride of place in the grounds of his home and "stand like a monument to Manchester United."
» Plans were revealed in 1999 for a new American TV sho called The Chimp Channel. It would be a parody of current shows with chimps in the leading roles.
» Elvis Presley's live act caused the first audience frenzy in 1955. During the concert in Jacksonville, fans tore off most of his clothing.
»In 1998, Mariah Carey denied suggestions that she acted like a prima donna. Because she wasn't acting?
» Happy birthday to: My Family actress Zoe Wanamaker (55); musician Stevie Wonder (54); This Morning host Richard Madeley (48); and Eastender's Sonia, Natalie Cassidy (21).
» Unrelated fact of the day: Penguins can jump as high as six feet in the air.
