Tuesday's Low Points

The schlock you won't want to miss today
» The Golden Palace 3pm, LivingTV ... Blanche discovers her son has become a stand-up comedian.
» Crossroads 5pm, ITV1 ... It's back to the future after last week's trip to the 70s and – gasp! – it's the last week. Unfortunately, because the show was yanked off the air with such indecent haste, they didn't have time to wrap up all the stories properly, but we're promised lots of cheeky in-jokes for fans, the usual OTT acting, and some truly outrageous stuff on Friday. Today, though, Max breaks Kate's heart – again.
» The Money Pit 9pm, Sky One ... Tom Hanks and Shelley Long star in one of those very special films that could only have been made in the 1980s.
» Cutting It 9pm, BBC1 ... We live with someone who prounounces everything we ever watch on tv 'a load of shite' as the end titles roll, but he sat quite happily through the whole of Cutting It last week, and didn't pass any comment at all at the end. There can be no higher recommendation.

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
