Amazing facts about April 28:
» Torvill and Dean were made Freemen of the City of Nottingham on this day in 1983. Rumour has is that they turn up at the town hall each Friday afternoon to this day, shouting loudly, demanding food and menacing passers-by. Possibly.
» John Nettles, alias Bergerac, was given permission to live on Jersey in 1989. Unfortunately, he was later given permission to return to mainland Britain, thus allowing the creation of Midsomer Murders.
» Gwyneth Guthrie, High Road's Mrs Mack, is 67 today. It will be a bittersweet birthday for her this year, coming as it does just a day after the demise of the show she is best known for (see below)
