INSIDE! Peep Show, Channel 4, 10.00pm

It's been a while since we had some decent comedy to watch on Channel 4 of a Friday night, what with no new series of Green Wing this year and Spoons not really cutting the mustard. Hurrah, then, for the return of archetypal losers Mark and Jeremy and the always-welcome Peep Show. Older yes, wiser arguably no, the El Dude Brothers are back for more self-obsession and failed attempts at self-improvement.

So, what's in store for this series? Well, tonight Mark gets mugged by two teenagers on his way home (presumably not the same kids he chased with a large pipe in the first episode after they kept calling him a paedophile) and Jeremy awaits the return of his ex, Big Suze. For some reason that name makes us picture her so tall that we only see her from the neck down, in a Charlie-Brown's-teacher-sort of way, but then we haven't been taking our medication recently.

Later in the series, we've got such delights to look forward to as (if the trailers are to be believed) Jeremy and Super Hans running a pub (God help us all), Jeremy quite possibly attempting to shag Mark's sister, and Mark embarrassing himself whilst attempting to be a jogger. Hurrah!

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
