FUCK ME FACTS!
Amazing things about Friday, April 2:
» Three years ago, a Taiwanese man gave up three days into a 10-day challenge to remain locked in a room with a deadly snake in order to win £21,000. We don't know if that meant the money went to the snake.
» On the same day, a Thai doctor recommended rubbing cockroach dung on mouth ulcers to cure them. We'll wait for the cockmint flavoured gum, thanks.
» A list of banned items for World Cup games was drawn up in 2002. It included confetti and certain types of umbrella.
» Frank Sinatra began the longest chart run in history of 122 weeks when My Way entered the charts on this day in 1969.
» The Killingbeck police football team organised the arrest of an opposition team player after realising he was on the wanted list. The cops went on to beat their opponents 6-3.
» What ho! It's Penelope Keith's 64th birthday today. Also celebrating are Secret Diary of Adrian Mole author Sue Townsend (58), and Bananarama songstress Keren Woodward (43), who now lives with Andrew Ridgely, apparently.
