HOUSING! Little Miss Jocelyn, BBC2, 9.30pm

What a lowculture quandry! The new series of Little Miss Jocelyn is on at the same time as the first Echo Beach. We're going to have to insist that you somehow watch both, so get your VCRs, Sky-and-V-+s, iPlayers or whatever else you have at the ready.

Hopefully the funny-to-not-funny ratio will be a bit higher this time around, as the word "patchy" could have been invented for series one. The signs are good – Mrs Omwukwopopo is back, as are other favourites including the traffic warden and the bus driver. There are lots of new characters too - we're particularly excited about seeing Jocelyn as Prince William's new girlfriend.

If you need something to while away the day as you wait for this to start, have a look at this mobile phone clip of what happened when Jocelyn met some fans on the tube. Makes a change from happy slapping, eh?

That clip is hilarious. Jocelyn needs to take over from Emma Clarke.

About Us

According to Marxist theory, cultural forms such as opera, classical music and the literary works of Shakespeare all fall under the heading of high culture. Low culture refers to a wide variety of cultural themes that are characterised by their consumption by the masses. We might not be Marxists, but we do know we loved Footballers Wives. If you do too, you'll know what this is all about.
