SECRET! Behind The Couch, BBC4, 9.40pm

This one - while perhaps a bit more serious than the sort of show we normally point you towards - sounds like it ought to be interesting. It's a doco about the Hollywood casting process, and who here can't say they're a little bit intrigued by that? Of course, we'd rather it was the Hollyoaks casting couch, if only so we might get some wisdom regarding some of the bonkers casting choices made in that show, but this will do for now.

There are some vaguely X Factor undertones promised, as we'll get to see the casting directors breaking the news to those they consider to be not up to the grade - and that's our polite way of putting it. Of course, this is BBC4 so we doubt anyone will be throwing a drink in anyone's face or bringing in their family for a scrap, but you never know your luck, do you?

And if you're looking for something a little more flimsy to entertain you today, we feel honour-bound to point out that the frankly brilliant Very Special Episode of Lizzie McGuire where Miranda develops and recovers from an eating disorder in 25 minutes is on BBC1 at 5.00pm. Yay!
