Casting news

We've gone cold on Casualty since Duffy was written out in the most unlikely storyline in the history of the series ("Good news, everyone. I've forgiven the man who conned me out of all my money, and we're running away together").
But we might be prepared to give it another chance when the new series starts in September after hearing the news that Maxwell Caulfield, of Grease 2 and The Colbys fame, is joining the cast as paediatrician Jim Brodie.
We're still quivering with excitement over his TV wife, Emma Samms, popping up as a guest star in Holby City, so this new development might be what finally sends us over the edge.
An actor of Calfield's calbre is just what Casualty needs to sink it to the bottom of the lowculture barrel, and we look forward to documenting his fucking awfulness on a weekly basis.
