Amazing things about October 27:
» The BBC launched its daytime TV service in 1986. The people responsible had high hopes, and must surely now be proud to see every afternoon filled with endless repeats of Murder, She Wrote.
» Boxer shorts were introduced in 1901.
» The first Planet Hollywood opened in 1991.
» The Spice Girls hit the No.1 spot with Say You'll Be There seven years ago. And it still sounds ace today.
» Kylie Minogue won Worst Female Singer at the 1991 Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party in 1991. Kylie will have the last laugh this year, however – she is a global megastar, and the Smash Hits Poll Winners' Party has been called off cos nobody gives a fuck about it any more.
» Samantha Fox was arrested for drink driving in 1998.
» Kelly Osbourne is 19 today. And her career already seems to be pretty much over. Shame.
