» It was revealed in 1998 that a crazed fan of The Seekers had sent them 45 doormats as part of a bizarre stalking campaign.
» Victoria Beckam and her pals the Truesteppers were beaten to the No.1 spot when Spiller's Groovejet beat Out Of Your Mind in 2000.
» Sylvester McCoy, a man who was once deemed a suitable candidate to be Doctor Who, is 60 today. Born Percy Smith, he is good at playing the xylophone and the spoons and putting ferrets down his trousers – but not so good, according to those in the know, at playing Doctor Who. Also celebrating today is Bullseye host Jim Bowen. You still can't beat a bit of bully. Probably.
