» The Monkees began filming their TV show on this day in 1966.
» 36 Grateful Dead fans had to be medically treated in 1971 – not for their love of the band (although that would have been highly appropriate) but because they had unknowingly drunk cider laced with LSD at a concert in the US.
» It was a black day for Five Star in 1990 – they had to move out of their home before the baliffs turfed them out for non-payment of the mortgage.
» Geri Halliwell announced she had left the Spice Girls in 1998. Little has been heard of her since – can anyone shed any light?
» Sharon Gless, of Cagney and Lacey and and Queer As Folk fame, turns 60 today. And Brooke Shields, of Blue Lagoon Tits Out fame, is 38.
