Gareth dreamed this as a little boy

Having noticed that everyone loves Justin Timberlake and not Westlife now, Gareth Gates has decided on a not-entirely-unexpected change of musical direction. Yes, he's going for an opportunistic R&B cash-in.
"I want to move away from pop - well, not pop as a whole but I want to get away from the cheesy side of it," he claims.
Cathy Dennis is currently removing the tune from several tracks for Gareth to record, and he can be heard practicing his Timbaland-style 'freaky, freaky, freaky" noises most evenings.
Obviously, none of this takes effect until after the release of Spririt In The Sky, which falls very much on pop's cheesy side.
Rumours that Will Young is working on tracks with the Polyphonic Spree could not be confirmed.
