Double your terror, double your fun
PSYCHO! Neighbours, BBC1, 1.40/5.35pm
We had a much-needed day off on Monday. It was great for many reasons - we got to stay in bed until almost midday watching endless programmes about buying things at auctions. We got to watch a season one episode of Charmed on DVD and remember how good The Doherty Years were. And, most importantly, we got to catch up with the latest goings-on in Neighbours.
It is one of our greatest regrets that we no longer get to watch Neighbours on a regular basis, because we are in gainful employment when it's on and we no longer have the joy of being able to watch telly in the office. We were pleased to see, however, that plenty of things remain the same since we last saw the show: Elle and Izzy still hate each other. Ned still can't act (though he's improved a leeeeeetle bit). Lou and Harold still get the "hilarious" Odd Couple storylines - this time it was something to do with a model boat that sank. Sky still clashes with authority - this time it was her enormous jackhole of an art teacher who thinks she's talentless. We were missing the smouldering Dylan/Paul scenes of homoeroticism, sadly, but pretty much everything else was right where we expected it to be.
Except! There's a new addition to the street, and his name is Cameron Robinson. Except it isn't really, it's Robert Robinson. Confused? So were we, until we remembered that Elle is one of Paul's triplets, and that Cam and Rob are the other two. Only Rob's the family fuckup, and everyone loves Cam, so somehow Rob's engineered Cam ending up in hospital and being identified as Rob, so now Rob's travelled to Erinsborough pretending to be Cam, no doubt for truly EVIL purposes. Yes folks, it's an evil twin (well, triplet) storyline! The best kind of soap storyline ever! Except now we're disappointed because since Tuesday we've had to go back to work, so we've missed every subsequent instalment and we'll have to go back to reading Inside Soap magazine for our recaps until someone takes pity on us and buys us a PVR.
Anyway: today on Ramsey Street: there's devastating news about Bree's paternity (we'd be gutted if we were Kim, too; Bree is by far the awesomest of the Timmins kids), and Rachel refuses to respect Katya's authoritah! Where's the dependable Susan when you need her, eh?

But nothing beats the Mrs Mangle glory days... and Helen blinking after she died.
And does Paul still have that Commodore Amiga 500 'com-pu-ter' in the Lassidas office...?
Times. They have a-changed.
