A busload of problems
CRASH! Veronica Mars, Living TV, 8.00pm
We make no apologies for recommending this show. Indeed, we feel so positively militant about it that we're probably going to write about this show for the next 21 weeks, just to make sure that our (albeit minimal) influence over the viewing public is exercised to its fullest. C'mon, we want lots of viewers so that there will be UK releases for the DVDs, and hopefully a full-length and successful season three on the new CW network in America.
Of course, that's all the future. So, what's happening in the present? Well, as we saw last week, Veronica dated Logan over the summer until his dangerous side got out of control, and eventually she got back together with Duncan, prompting LoVe shippers all over the world to shriek and rend their garments. Then Felix got murdered, and Logan got fingered (steady!) for the crime. That was all during the summer. Then Veronica, her new hairdo, and several of her classmates went on a trip with Naima from America's Next Top Model masquerading as their teacher and met Steve Guttenberg and his very odd screen daughter. Dick Casablancas and a bunch of the 09ers caught a limo back instead of the bus due to some kind of stench issue, and Veronica valiantly rode the smelly bus. She got distracted at a rest stop by Weevil and a clearly-still-bitter-about-being-dumped-by- Duncan-in-favour-of-Veronica Meg informed Teacher Naima that everyone was on board, and the bus left without her. Veronica caught up with her classmates around a bend near a cliff where Gia Goodman (aka Steve Guttenberg's odd daughter) informed her that the bus had gone over the cliff and everyone on board is dead.
Dramatic, right? Well, there's this season's big mystery, folks - why did the bus go over the cliff, and who was responsible? Because somehow you just know it wasn't simple human error or mechanical failure. Sure enough, in this episode, a still-slightly-reluctant-to-be-sleuthing Veronica is approached by the daughter of the bus driver and begged for her help in clearing the driver's name, somewhat posthumously. Meanwhile, Wallace has the hots for snooty new girl Jackie Cook, daughter of famous former baseball player Terrance. And wouldn't you know it? Jackie and Veronica get off on entirely the wrong foot. This should be fun. Also, there's a guest appearance by Kevin Smith. Have at it!

Thank you for such a wonderful review of Veronica Mars, it's very appreciated. The show is the best I've ever seen, and I hope you enjoy season two as much as I did.

The whole of season two is bleedin' marvellous and full of those twisty turny plots and the usual rather great dialogue that us Mars fans enjoy so much. Killer season finale to look forward to.
When are Channel 4 or Five going to buy this, the best thing on telly?
