Readers' choice

PROPERTY! Selling Houses, Channel 4, 8.00pm

Cast your minds back to last Wednesday. We know it's a long time and you can barely see through the haze of poppers that was your weekend, but do try. We bemoaned the lack of quality television on a Wednesday that wasn't The Apprentice or Desperate Housewives and invited you lovely people to suggest what we would preview this week.

Well, the fabulous and talented LOWCULTURE reader zaffra recommended that we draw your attention to Selling Houses on Channel 4, citing the reason that it's "the Ronseal approach, sort of old skool hybrid of a property show". Our attention was also drawn to the "slightly camp, slightly stern" presenter Andrew Winter. We like how Andrew Winter is described on the programme's website as a "no-nonsense estate agent", especially considering that we've met a lot of estate agents over the past week and most of them have been all-nonsense. This week sees the last episode in the series, so what better time for us to run a preview? Except maybe the beginning of the series, of course. This week a couple are set to lose the deposit on their new house if they can't sell their old one quickly - heavens to Murgatroyd! The aforementioned Andrew and City Gardener charmpot Matt James go to work sorting out the inside and outside of the property (much as we suspect Ann and Sven do on House Doctor: Inside And Out) to try to land them that lucrative sale. Will they? Won't they? We will be, quite literally, on the edge of our seats.

I really liked Selling Houses. I felt a bit bad for the estate agent though, the host was just like "you're shit at your job."
