Ugly scenes
Just watched The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and found it very funny. In this show, three people – one expert, one proven failure, and one without a clue – competed to direct an amateur theatre group.
The participants chose "the good", who has been directing for 30 years, including lots of productions at the National Theatre.
Of course, they didn't know who they had chosen, so treated their director like he didn't know what he was talking about – we loved the moment was when the person who had directed the previous play was given a shit part and mouthed off about the director to camera.
The best bit in the whole thing was when Mr Good had to travel for an hour to audition an actor – normally, he grumbled, people were begging to audition for him.
We also went behind-the-scenes at the drama club, when one new member of the group missed out on a part because a rival called her before the meeting to tell her not to come (she turned up to the meeting anyway to confront her enemy).
Most of all, we loved the backstage bitchiness – exactly what the theatre is about.
