Hold on a minute ...

We distinctly remember an announcement that was made last week proclaiming that, due to the war, there would be no red carpet at this year's Oscars ceremony.
So why do all the pictures feature the stars standing on something red that looks very much like a carpet, smiling and waving?
It was also good to see the female stars respectfully dressing down for the occasion. Special mentions go to Zellweger (tight embroidered chiffon red Carolina Herrera gown, Berry (see-through Elie Saab skirt), Hudson (champagne chiffon Versace gown) and Swank (with a long tulle overlay and a Bulgari diamond brooch).
We're sure the troops in the field and the people of Iraq appreciate your efforts not to appear ostentatious at this difficult time.
