Darth Bedingfield

To the surprise of precisely no-one, Daniel Bedingfield has come out of the closet as a raging science fiction fan.
Mr B features in the My Sci-Fi section of the latest issue of SFX magazine, and blows his image as a cool, sophisticated pop sex god right out of the water by admitting: "I read though the entire SF section in my massive local library by the time I was 17 and then ordered loads more."
He also confesses to a "slavish" devotion to Stingray and says he loves characters who start off unaware of their potential and gain confidence (something we hope is not reflected in Daniel's own life – imagine him being more confident than he already is!).
When asked to name his favourite sci-fi or fantasy film, the usually placid Bedingfield is like some kind of raging sci-fi beast.
"How dare you give me only 50-70 words for this one," he fumes. "Impossible to decide between Star Wars (the original one, of course), The Lord Of The Rings, The Matrix and Akira."
Daniel, Daniel, Daniel... how can one so cool also be so very geeky?
