Bowled over
Amused and disturbed in equal measure, lowculture was glued to Double Take on BBC2 last night.
In what looks likely to prove a rating success, the programme invited us for the first time to judge impressionists by what they looked like, rather than their vocal talents.
Did we really see Michael Jackson's nose fall off, Geri Halliwell taking a rather intimate bath with her pet pooch, or the Queen struggling to train her corgis? Of course not - but the programme did manage to instil in our minds that perhaps these people are, on some levels at least, just like us.
Our favourite of the evening has to be Camilla Parker-Bowles. Her PR couldn't have asked for better publicity.
Whether it be flirting with Harry Windsor, posing in a ballet outfit, or - best of all - running away from the scene of a minor road accident, lowculture has the feeling that the public may soon be warming to Charles' flame. Or at least, her lookey-likey.
Catch Double Take next Monday at 9.30pm on BBC2.
