Those boots were made for scorin'
So, while Posh reminisced over canapés, poor Goldenballs was nursing his purple brow.
Becks allegedly needed two stitches after manager Alex Ferguson kicked a football boot and struck the star player after Manchester United lost 2-0 to Arsenal at the weekend.
But surely the incident flags up a much more serious issue than the dangers of winding up your boss. The mere fact that the boot breached the unrivalled Beckham security squad surely highlights the need to review procedures yet again.
With the football club refusing to comment over the incident, lowculture can only imagine the whole debacle will be passed off as part of the latest fashion trend for the team’s most stylish player.
But be warned – even the slightest misapplication of sticking plasters can mean all the difference between becoming a bang-on Beckham or a ninny-like Nelly.
