Humble beginnings
One of the benefits of living with a Doctor Who fan, as lowculture does, is that you occasionally get to laugh at people who are now big stars doing the four-episode guest spot that came free with every Equity card issued in the 1970s.
This morning, UK Gold presented us with Helen Worth, the angular Gail from Coronation Street, as Mary Ash in Colony In Space. As you can see from our exclusive picture, she was shaped like a triangle as long ago as 1971.
Also present in this three-hour snoozefest about intergalactic mining rights (no, really) was Tony Caunter, who is about to breathe his last as Roy in EastEnders.
